- The new Communite Unified Messaging system
will be installed at the College of Saint
Benedict and St. John's University during the
Spring of 2005. This system will replace the
current voice mail systems utilized by each
campus. This new system integrates our current
outlook email system with voice mail. It creates
a universal mailbox for all your messages. - The system is very robust and offers many
benefits. Users that are uncomfortable with the
technology can start slow and may still use voice
mail and email as they do today. Access to voice
mail is still available over the telephone.
3Personal Settings
- Before you can use Communite, you must set up
your mailbox by phone or via the Personal
Settings web page. Record your name, a personal
greeting, and change your passcode from the
default one assigned by your administrator.
4The Communite folder gets you directly to a
website that can be used for the visual
administration of your mailbox. This is your
personal administration page. You can change you
password, create distribution lists, change the
type of messages that are played (new, old, or
both), you can also set your status and toggle
the playing of that status on and off. If you do
not have this folder, you can also gain access to
the site by going to http//communite/communite
5What can day to day users experience with
Communite? It depends on how an organization
elects to use the flexible software. It can be
voice mail only or configured with the unified
messaging system.
6With Communites Unified messaging options youll
find that our user will spend less time handling
messages and more time being accessible to our
students, alumni, donors, prospective students
and guests.
7Checking your messages will be easier than ever
with Communite. By phone, youll be able to
check not only your voice mail but also your
e-mail messages. Though outlook, you not only be
able to access your e-mail but youll also be
able to read and respond to your voice mail
directly through your outlook.
8Broadcast message can be created and sent
directly from your desk top. Sending a voice
mail message to a group has never been easier.
9Remote users will able to dial in to check both
their voice messages and e-mail messages via text
to speech.
10Changing your personal settings can be done right
from the desktop.
11Status settings will give your callers quick
reference as to why you are away and when youll
be back.
