allocation of issuer codes to organisations which
are licensed by the UPU to issue licence plates
and similar identifiers under the UPU issuing
agency code. PurposeTo ensure for a global
uniqueness of licence plates and similar
identifiers. Status and Date of adoption Status
0 (working draft), adopted 26 November
1999 Current work This new code list is in the
process of being implemented. The IB will publish
all issuers on the POSTInfo website when they
get known to the IB. UsersAll UPU members using
licence plates. Foreseen development of the
standard No further developments foreseen.

Organisation Identifiers

ScopeThe standard defines a mechanism for the
allocation of globally unique identifiers for the
identification of entities involved in using
postal services and/or in providing equipment and
services to support postal processing. PurposeTo
ensure for a clear and unambiguous way of
identifying organisations involved in postal
processing. Status and Date of adoption Status
0 (working draft), adopted 24 July 2000 Current
work This new code list is in the process of
being implemented. The IB will give out an
organisation identifier to all UPU members and
publish them on POSTInfo. UsersAll UPU members
will be provided a identifier. Foreseen
development of the standard No further
developments foreseen.

processing centres. PurposeTo ensure for a
unambiguous way of identifying international mail
processing centres in data interchange. Status

the most extensive code list that the IB
currently maintains. The list is being updated
