  • i) Author (year) Book title, Placepublisher
  • ii) Chapter author, Chapter title, in Book (ed),
    Book title, PlacePublisher, pages
  • To find out if the library has the book, use the
    library catalogue and search for
  • Author (or editor) of the whole book
  • Title of the whole book
  • The rest of the information helps you decide if
    what the library has is exactly the same book and
    which chapter or pages of the book to read.

Use the library catalogue and search for the
author or title (probably no need to include the
subtitle if searching for this example)
If the copys been borrowed by someone already,
go to JCM Library and ask library staff to recall
this for you (person has a week then has to
return it for you to use) And/or use shelfmark
to find books on similar subject on the shelves.

  • The rest of the information helps you decide if
    the library has the issue of the journal you need
    and where in that issue to find the article you
    want to read.
