As the wind continued to blow, Odysseus and his
men found themselves further from their
homeland. After many days, they stumped upon a
mysterious island.

When they got close to this island , they saw
green grass, branches of alders, poplars and
cypresses.

It was going to get dark soon, so they went
back to the shore , laid down and slept. When
they woke up in the morning the air was fresh and
cool.

They saw a river with many waterfalls. There were
green meadows filled with wild flowers. Then
when Odysseus and his men looked up , they saw a
big bright beautiful rainbow.

Odysseus and his men started walking toward the
river for a drink, when they heard a voice . When
they got to the river , they saw a beautiful
woman. Her name was Areti and she invited them to
her palace.

When they were close to the palace ,Aretis was
waiting by the door . Hello everyone, said
Aretis, Welcome to my palace. They all sat
down. She began to ask them some questions about
their families and their lives and how they
arrived in her Island.

Aretyi went to prepare the food and took out a
little bottle from her closet. She put a drop of
poison in everybody's plate, except for Odysseus.
But Odysseus was watching her from a far .He did
not speak because he knew his friends had eaten
moly, an antidote Athena had given him. For that
reason, the potion caused no effect on
Odysseuss men. They enjoyed the food without
preoccupation.

After the feast, Areti saw that nothing had
happened to the men, but she didnt say any
think .She told everybody to go to sleep at her
palace for the night .She offered Odysseus the
big room upstairs and told Odysseus men to stay
downstairs.

A couple of hours later, Areti went downstairs
and woke the men up because she needed help to
move something heavy in the baseman .She said,
Can you guys please help me?, She went with them
to the baseman and as soon as all where in, she
closed the door. They started screaming and
yelling Hey, whats is going on, let us out !.
She left quickly and put the key behind a loose
piece of the wall and went to sleep.

In the morning , Odysseus couldnt find his men.
He asked Areti, Where are my friends?. I dont
knowshe said. May be they left you . Odysseus
didnt trust her. He ran to the shore to see if
the ship was there. After he saw the ship at
shore ,he ran back to the palace. When he went
back inside the palace ,he heard the voices of
his men coming from the baseman , He felt so
happy because his men were alive. Areti was
there and told them Dont scream. Nobody will
hear you. Odysseus was behind Areti and he saw
where she hid the key .

Odysseus stayed up a couple of hours. Later, When
he thought Areti might be asleep , he went and
got the key from her secret spot. Then went
downstairs and woke his men. They saw him and
exclamed, Odysseus, you came to save us, shh
Said Odysseus. Be quiet, I will unlock this cage
and we will leave. Nobody make a noise. The y
left her palace and ran to the ship. They all
rowed very hard. They had escaped this
mysterious island and were happy.
