Goal 1 Retain current members and recruit new
members.
  • Awards/Public Relations Committee updated printed
    brochure with membership details.
  • Rose Allen updated the MAEE web-site.
  • MAEE Board Representation at New Extension
    Employee Orientations.
  • Personal contacts through board members to
    eligible MAEE members.

Goal 2 Advocate on behalf of MAEE members with
Extension Administration.
  • Through the Employee Benefits Committee, MAEE
    lobbied for its members on issues of mileage,
    salary, dental benefits, sick leave and financial
    planning workshops.
  • Creation of Extension Listening Learning
    Sessions and Building a Stronger Organization
    survey and dialogue to aid in organizational
    development.

Goal 3 Foster Positive Relationships with
University Partners (Deans, Regents, President,
University Foundation
  • Board held administrative discussions with Dr.
    Charles Casey, George Morse, Jeanne Markell and
    Leslee Mason. Details of the discussion and
    resulting action were included in each meetings
    board minutes mailed to entire membership.
    Follow-up letters of action requested routinely
    sent by President.
  • Regular in-person, phone and e-mail conversations
    held between MAEE President and Dr. Casey
    regarding MAEE issues.

Goal 4 Share Programs and Impacts with
Legislators
  • Through Legislative Committee focused efforts on
    a concept statement to react to possible
    legislative action.
  • On-going updates from Administration to Board on
    Legislative reports.

  • Creation of Ad Hoc Communications Committee.
  • Five MAEE Board Meetings to plan and discuss
    issues of importance to MAEE Members.
  • Area MAEE Representatives seeking membership

    Past President worked together to offer two day
    Annual Conference.

MAEAP Section Highlights
  • Annual Meeting- This years annual meeting was
    held June 28 and 29 at the Old Barn Resort near
    Preston. In addition to our business meeting, we
    toured an orchard and dairy farm, had a
    discussion with Congressman Gutnecht, and a team
    building session led by Roger Steinberg.

MAEAP Section Highlights
  • National Meeting- This years national meeting
    was held July 12-15 in Orlando Florida. Ray
    Bisek was honored with the Distinguished Service
    Award and the Achievement Award was given to Jim
    Stordahl.

MAE4-HE Section Highlights
  • Youth and U. Held in February 2004 with over 120
    attendees. This year the use of technology was
    enhanced by the facilities. Being able to use
    technology we were able to have wireless access
    to use in sessions.
  • Name Change. The membership voted on changing the
    name to be more inclusive to perspective members.
    The new name is MAE4-HYDP (Minnesota Association
    of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals.
  • National Involvement. Our membership has
    involvement on the national level and this year a
    member running for a Regional Director position.
    There is also a huge delegation going to the
    national conference this year.

  • By-laws Revision In response to changing
    organization and changes in MAEE by-laws,
    revisions were proposed to membership.
  • 2007 National Meeting MEAFCS will co-host the
    2007 NEAFCS Annual Session with Wisconsin and
    Illinois.
