and long-lived. Some species of benthic
Macroinvertebrates are sensitive to
pollution and some are tolerant. Benthic
Macroinvertebrates are easy to collect.

  • 10 qt white collection pan

High Gradient Streams TRAVELING KICK
Low Gradient Streams Habitat Sampling (10)
1/2 meter line
  • Set net in riffle
  • Kick and stir 1/2 meters above net
  • Repeat at 5 different locations in riffle
  • Estimate habitat present
  • Jab net in representative habitat
  • Repeat at 10 different locations in reach
