Title: JMDC Application Programs JAP

1
JMDC Application Programs (JAP)
  • Xudong CAI _at_ MIT
  • March 1, 2005

2
Supported Functions
  • Based on JOS V1.12, JAP was tested during FIT
  • 1553 Communication on both ISS and STS interface
were tested, APID and external NASA commands were
    modified and supported during FIT
  • HRDL and RS422 communication are working, but
HRDL output procedure need to be modified
according the test result of APS
  • Data acquisition is working, but need to be
    optimized
  • Passing commands from one JMDC to other nodes is
    working
  • Slow control Q list is supported, but need to be
    improved

3
Problems to be fixed
  • Go from very low output rate to higher rate, JAP
    takes too long about 10min.
  • This will be fixed in March 2005

4
Functions to be added CAN Test
  • Passing Encapsulated AMS CAN Block
  • JIM-CAN bypass mode support
  • USCM simultaneous debugging task
  • Improved Q-List
  • These works can be finished in March 2005

5
Functions to be added - Board/Crate Level Tests
  • In order to use JAP for FM and FS board level
test, some board level debugging task need to be
    added
  • JSBC ECC mode, should be enabled in JOS and used
    all the time
  • Watch-dog timer functions need to be added
  • Passing encapsulated data (AMS CAN block, AMSWire
    Block, Frame and AMS Block)
  • JBU usage to be added
  • Define crate level test procedure
  • These works can be finished in April-May 2005.

6
Functions to be added Slow Control
  • Need clear definitions procedure for each control
    task
  • JPD monitor and control

7
Functions to be optimized
  • Data acquisition procedure
  • Q-List
  • Parameter setting (unify between JROM and JAP)
  • Status reporting (unify between JROM and JAP)
  • Flash memory system (unify between JROM and JAP)
  • These are continuous works.

8
Data Format and Procedures
  • Critical Health Data (CHD) format need to be
    modified
  • NASA Commands need to be redefined
  • Some operational procedure need to be defined
  • Ownership setting
  • Passing data between JMDCs
  • Default parameters in flash memory
  • Status gathering (JMDC part)
  • HRDL transmission startup
  • Common data types between JROM and JAP
  • HRDL parameter changing
  • How to use JBU (storing blocks or frames)

9
Ground Support Software
  • Separate commanding and HK handler
  • Recording file format and software
  • Commanding path
  • Monitor programs
  • Commanding program
