  • Established in 1977 as an independent,
    non-government organization dedicated to
    promoting and protecting the interests of local
    businesses adopted new strategies and activities
    to stimulate Turkish Cypriot exports and is
    supporting its 400 active members in seeking new
    markets represents manufacturers, exporters, and
    some service sectors represents the whole
    Industrial Production of north Cyprus member of
    World Chambers Federation of ICC.
  • The CTCI was established to advance the growth
    of industrial and commercial economic activity in
    northern Cyprus. Promote modernized industrial
    environment.Represent Turkish Cypriot businesses
    on national and international platforms. Protect
    the rights and interests of its members.
  • Contribute to the development of the Turkish
    Cypriot business community .Attain and maintain a
    suitable environment for investment by
    influencing policy-making, and by providing all
    information to continually upgrade and service
    the interests of the industry

  • Give full attention to, and protect the combined
    interests and welfare of members and co-ordinate
    with different government departments in solving
    problems arising during implementation of laws.

    government departments in laying out the policies
    concerning the industry, and the execution of
    such.

    development in the industry and provide
    suggestive solutions to the involved ministries

    Agreement in Nicosia on july 27th 2006.The Cyprus
    Turkish Chamber of Industry has been give fully
    attention to use and accept under these Global

  • Principle 1 Businesses should support and
    respect the protection of internationally
    proclaimed human rights within their sphere of
    influence.

  • Principle 3 Businesses should uphold the freedom
    of association and the effective recognition of
    the right to collective bargaining.
  • Principle 4 Businesses should eliminate all
    forms of forced and compulsory labor.

    discrimination in respect of employment and
    occupation.

  • CTCI Activities Adaptation to Global Compact
    Principles
  • Among all the Global Compact principles, the CTCI
    is especially sensitive on human rights issues.
    With respect to principles 1,2 and 5 the chamber
    is committed to the prevention of child labour
    and pledges not to purchase products from firms
    which employ child labor. The chamber also
    pledges to work for the elimination of
    discrimination in respect of employment and
    occupation among its member firms.
  • The CTCI has collaborated with the Ministry of
    Labor in order to prevent child labor and raise
    consciousness and social responsibility towards
    the issue. As a result of this, a mutually
    developed penalty system has been set in order to
    prevent child labor. In addition, the minimum age
    of labor force has been set to 18.
  • The Chamber commits itself to recruiting staff
    with respect to local legislation and
    requirements for labor standards and rights.
    Furthermore we avoid gender, racial, age and
    religious discriminations.

  • CTCI has organized and participated in seminars
    regarding Policy of Equal Opportunities in
    order to attract awareness within its members on
    Gender Equality and to increase understanding in
    the working environment. The CTCI has also
    organised a seminar regarding Policy for Labor
    Standards Programme which focused on the
    introduction of Health and Safety Standards and
    Certificates.
  • CTCI has been signed protocol with Ministry of
    Labour to assist living conditions of foreign
    Labours and besides tries to reduces if any
    Gender and Race Discrimination. CTCI designed a
    seminar to informate the public channels in its
    conditions.

  • The vision of the CTCI is to increase quality
    standards in businesslife and prevent corruption.
    In order to solidify this aim and maintain a
    quality management system, the CTCI has received
    its ISO 90012000 Quality Management Certificate
    from NQA and working on to expand to ISO
    90012008 Quality Management Certificate.
  • The chambers accounting, member database and IT
    programmes have been upgraded to provide more
    efficiency and control. We expanded
  • In order to work against corruption in all its
    forms, including extortion and bribery, the
    chamber has set a mechanism to control product
    inflow. Employees from member companies and the
    chamber attended seminars regarding anti
    corruption and bribery.
  • Under principle 8, we have organized activities
    to increase green areas in industrial areas by
    planting trees on the main roads of industrial
    areas.

  • Under principle 9, the CTCI supports and
    encourages the development and diffusion of
    environmentally friendly technologies among its
    members and assist them to use environmental
    friendly lamps and electirical switches in their
    plantations.
  • CTCI assist and informate their members to
    collect rubbish materials into the containers
    where its located specific area in Nicosia
    Industrial Area.
  • The CTCI has signed an continuity agreement in
    April 2009 with the Cyprus Life Association in
    order to attract attention to drug abuse and
    addiction. The CTCI has organized a cultural
    dancing activity called Shadow in The Dark
    together with Cyprus Life Association and donated
    75 of the activities revenue to the Struggle
    Against Drugs Addiction Association Fund.

    chamber magazine and circular letters.
