2Mission Core Team Members
- Provide World Class Services and Support to
Public - Sector Clients When Communications Are Critical.
- ERT core members combine extensive military and
federal law enforcement experience in
communications (satellite, VHF, UHF, AM, FM and
800 MHz) with extensive Nextel technical
operations experience, and certifications in
Business Continuity, Homeland Security and
Project Management. -
- ERT Managers Carry Active Security
Clearances through the DoD DoJ
3ERT Operational Responsibilities
- Provide a national organization within
Sprint-Nextel to - Coordinate personnel, equipment and
infrastructure for - Federal state declared emergencies (Disaster
Support) - Field Training Exercises (FTX)
- Agency Specific Event Support (ASES)
- National Special Security Events (NSSE)
- Implement processes that facilitate cross
functional support for rapid mobilizations and
large scale deployments - Promote development of new remote and
out-of-footprint capabilities - Partner with Public Safety Military agencies in
need of solutions that maximize interoperability
and provide augmentation during a crisis/event
4ERT Disaster Support
ERT has supported 22 Presidential Declared
Disasters since starting in 08/02.
5Agency Specific Event Support
ERT has provided effective communications support
to agencies for dozens of important, national
pre-planned events.
6National Special Security Events
ERT provided unique resources, personnel and
infrastructure for federal, state and local law
enforcement during six NSSEs.
ERT provided equipment, deployed SatCOLTs at
primary venues for hardening and redundancy, and
staffed the Multi-Agency Command Centers in
support of over 60 federal, state and local law
enforcement agencies at the G8 Summit in Sea
Island, GA Democratic National Convention in
Boston, MA Republican National Convention in New
York Inauguration and State of the Union Address
in Washington DC.
7Field Training Exercise Support
ERT has supported over 95 Field Training
Exercises since starting in 08/02.
- ERT has supported over 95 Field Training
Exercises throughout the US, including - major and national exercises, since August of
2002. ERT has provided personnel, - infrastructure, equipment and integrated data
applications to support new incident - command technologies and strategies to more
effectively manage a multi-agency - response.
8ERT Reservist Program
- ERT has developed and implemented a unique
program to assist Emergency - Management organizations at the State and Local
level dealing with disasters. -
- Working in conjunction with the Sprint University
system and the corporate - Business Continuity Office (BCO), the ERT
Reservist Program utilizes - training based on established FEMA and DHS
doctrine and protocols. - Reservists activate and deploy in support of ERT
efforts and also can be - assigned to represent Sprint Nextel in an
Emergency Operations Center (EOC). -
- ERT currently has several hundred Reservists
trained and assigned to - specific EOC in areas like South, Northeast and
West regions. - Partnership Better coordinate between Sprint
and Emergency Management agencies during an
emergency or disaster. - Increase Customer Satisfaction - Allow agencies
to have a direct channel into Sprints approved
support organizations with a more expedited
response. - Involvement Allow trained Sprint employees to
be more actively involved in providing their
communities with critical volunteer support
9Unique ERT Assets - SatCOLT
The ERT SatCOLT is a Satellite based
Cell-On-Light-Truck that is designed to be
rapidly deployed in remote and/or disaster
environments. It is a full cell site that is
connected back into the larger Spint Nextel
Network
