• Tobacco-free policies
• Smoking bans and restrictions are the most
  effective method for in reducing secondhand smoke
  exposure (2000 SGR on Reducing Tobacco Use)
• Have the added benefit of reducing cigarette
  tobacco consumption and possibly increasing
  cessation rates among workers and the general
  public
• Smoking bans are effective, cost effective and
  feasible
• Tobacco-free policies make a difference only when
  voluntary compliance is adequate or the policies
  are accompanied by adequate education and
  enforcement

  the PHS clinical practice guideline

  cessation should be covered with no co-payment.
• Prescriptions for all FDA-approved medications
  for treatment of tobacco use should be covered
  with the usual pharmacy co-payments.
