• Objective To review present-tense verbs and
  subject verb agreement

What do we know?

• Verb Tenses
• Past Tense Tells about something that happened
  in the past. It ends in ed.
• Examples (Make these sentences past-tense.)
• Maya pastes the glitter on the paper.
• She brushes watercolors over the glitter.
• Last Friday, we play outside during recess.
• Last year she learn how to draw with pastels.
• Yesterday, I ____________________ .

What do we know?

• Present Tense Tells about an action that is
  happening now or happens over and over.
• Add s to most present-tense verbs when the
  subject of the sentence is he, she, it, or a
  singular noun.
• Identify the present-tense verb.
• He/She paints and sculpts.
• The student walks through the hallway.
• He molds figures out of clay.
• We enjoy many different kinds of art.
• Roger draws pictures of faces.

• Do not add s or es to present-tense verbs when
  the subject is I, you, we, they, or a plural
  noun.
• I paint and sculpt.

Future-Tense Verbs

• The helping tense verb will tells that the verb
  is in the future tense.
• She will work hard to finish in time for the
  show.

Subject-Verb Agreement

• A verb must agree in ______ with the subject.
