  • 1. Title

3
  • 2. Problem A clear statement written as a
    question.

4
  • 3. Research Observe Gather Data Find out as
much information as you can about your subject.
Read up to date books and articles, interview
people who are knowledgeable about your subject.
    List all references.

5
  • 4. Hypothesis An answer to the question based on
individual past experience or research. Make sure
it is testable and gives an answer to the
problem. Must have a cause and effect. Use an
IfThenFormat (If this is happening then this
    will be the result.)

6
  • 5. Experiment Steps to investigate (your plan of
    action to test your hypothesis)
  • Must include
  • METHOD (Before actually
    doing the lab)
  • List of materials
  • List of variables ( Independent, Dependent,
    Control)
  • Step by step procedure
  • Draw a diagram
  • Data collection tables

7
  • IMPLEMENTATION (During or immediately after the
    lab)
  • Record Data (Be sure to label all units of
    measure)
  • Describe information collected
  • List any other observations about what happened

8
  • 7. Conclusion What did I find out?
  • --Was hypothesis correct (rewrite if
    no)
  • -- Explain results using graph or chart
  • --Problems and successes with
    investigation
  • --Look for relationships in the
experiment and variables. How did the different
    variables do in the experiment?
  • --Conclusions and inferences supported
    with data.

9
  • --How could the experiment be improved?
  • --Any ideas for further investigation?
(I wonder what would happen if)
  • --How does this relate to everyday
    life?
  • --Why was your result the way it was,
    (make an inference)
  • --Limitations of your experiment.
