AMD Bangkok Located in Nonthaburi, just north of
the heart of the city and near the airport, AMD
Bangkok began operations in 1989 and now occupies
two buildings. One of the most modern of its
kind in Southeast Asia, the operations building
includes plastic assembly and testing, marking,
and packing of AMD's logic and memory products.
The second building is the Employee Development
Center. As in all of AMD's manufacturing
facilities, AMD Bangkok employees are involved
with Total Continuous Process Improvement (TCPI)
programs, such as the Statistical Process
Control (SPC) monitors that ensure real-time
process control. AMD Bangkok became ISO 9002
certified in 1992, ISO 14001 certified in
November 1999, and QS-9000 certified in February
2000.
