Nursery

• Integral part of the school
• First stepping stone to the rest of your childs
  education
• Children are taught both social and academic
  skills
• Build independence through class routines

Reception

• Curriculum follows on from Nursery
• Progression and continuity is paramount
• Reception builds on routines and teaching through
  year so that children are ready for transition
  into year 1.
• Learning sounds, to write and read are key
  focuses through new Literacy and Numeracy
  Strategies

Key Stage 1

• Ends with Year 2 SATs (progress is key) NOW not
  the future
• Home reading words and spelling
• Reading is vital (5 minutes a day).
• Role model hearing a reader.
• Writing is biggest issue (nationally and in
  school) at KS 1
