time, compared to the Earth. (For about 200,000
years compared with 4.6 billion!)

We have spread over most of the Earth, farming
it, mining it, building on it, and carving it up
into over 200 countries.

We have changed the Earth as we spread and
spoiled many places.

Now we are learning that we must look after it
properly.

But the Earth still holds many dangers for us,
such as floods and earthquakes!
