2860960MHz Band Analysis for IEEE 802.15.4 in
Korea
3Utilization of 860960 MHz Band in Korea
- No ISM band between 860960 MHz in Korea
- 868868.6MHz Airport Communication Service
- 902928MHz CT-1, CT-2, Safety Service, Pager
- CT-2 service returned frequency license
- No problem using 2.4 GHz for IEEE 802.15.4
because it is ISM band
4Analysis of Available Frequency Band
- Possible analysis scenarios
- Scenario 1 Reallocation of unused CT-2
frequency band - Total band 908.5914MHz
- CT-21) band 910914MHz
- Use adjacent guard band 908.5910MHz
- Scenario 2 Frequency sharing of Low Power
Device - Sharing with Wireless Microphone band
- 928930MHz and 950952MHz
- 908.5914MHz band assignment of Korea
- Plan to assign 908.5914MHz to RFID in order to
motivate RFID industries at the end of 2004 - 1) CT-2 Cordless Telephone (second
generation). A type of "public" cordless
telephone that is connected by TDMA radio links
to nearby, microcell base stations. CT-2 is most
often used as a wireless payphone. Receiving
calls is not possible.
5Review of RFID System Considering in Korea
- Frequency band 908.5914 MHz
- Power of Reader Below 1W
- Frequency band 27 channels (200KHz
bandwidth/channel)
6Utilization Methods of 908.5914MHz
- Proposal of adapting North America specifications
to IEEE 802.15.4 in Korea - Assignment of two channels
- Another solution
- Proposal of Europe specifications
- which enable to increase channels
- Assignment of Maximum 8 channels
-
7Summary
- Possibility to share frequency Two scenarios
- Sharing with RFID band
- Sharing with Wireless Microphone band
- Review of applying appropriate specifications to
IEEE 802.15.4 - With North America specifications
- With European specifications
- Research for interference analysis of sharing
frequency band by Korean Home Network Study Group
started from May 2004 - Note ETRI would like to acquire the document
related with reviewing interference and sharing
frequency in other countries
