Title: Users in the GRID Computing Environments
1Users in the GRID Computing Environments
- B. Bulakh, NTUU KPI, ESC IASA
2GRID Definition
Resource sharing allows
collaboration, higher joint
computational power and larger total
storage capacity Virtualization
operating as single virtual machine but
on heterogeneous resources Security
authentication, authorization
3GRID Applications
The development of the National GRID
infrastructure will give an important opportunity
for Ukrainian scientists to work in collaboration
and to take part in European projects. Due to the
perspective of GRID technology (not only in the
scientific projects) this experience is of great
importance. This GRID infrastructure must provide
appropriate GRID environment (a virtual space for
grid users and programmers) for collective access
to its resources and services
4GRID Users
GRID user communities
Regular users
Developers
Administrators
Need SDKs, APIs, rapid development tools
Students
Need administration tools
Scientists
Need user-friendly environment to run GRID jobs
Need testbed, knowledge base
