INSPECTOR TRAINING ENTRY LEVEL

• Entry level inspectors are required to complete
  23 weeks of training at the Mine Health and
  Safety Academy
• The training is divided into six modules with on
  the job field training incorporated between the
  Academy modules
• Modules consist of training in the following
  areas

INSPECTOR TRAINING JOURNEYMAN

• All journeyman inspectors are required to attend
  one week of training per year or two weeks every
  other year.
• Training includes
• Fatality Review
• Hoisting and Rigging
• Electrical Enforcement
• Electrical Lab and Permissibility

• Fire Protection

• Recent Decisions and SS
• Computer Issues
• Surface Powered Haulage
• Explosives and Blasting ATF
• Remote Control Mining Issues

• Cable Bolts and Trusses and Roof Control Issues
• Shaft and Slope Sinking Inspection

INSPECTOR TRAINING SPECIALISTS

• In addition to the required journeyman training
  specialists receive additional annual training in
  their area of expertise
• Electrical specialists attend annual training to
  maintain their electrical certification
• Ventilation, Roof Control, Impoundment, Accident
  Investigation and Special Investigators receive
  one to two weeks additional training annually
