• Current mandate only on Comm Dis
• Covers EU 27, EEA/EFTA countries
• Within Neighbourhood Policy and DG Relex reaches
  out to other countries beyond the EU 27
• Is financed by budget from the EU

TB ACTION PLAN

• 2007 call by Commissioner Kyprianou for ECDC to
  develop a Framework Action Plan for TB control in
  the EU
• ECDC initiated the process in collaboration with
  Commission
• Wide consultation among member states, WHO and
  key stakeholders carried out
• Final Framework Action Plan to Fight
  Tuberculosis in the European Union launched on
  World TB Day 2008.
