FAQ on Traditional Networking
  • Networking like this requires a Network board in
    the Hub for every Node
  • If you have two nodes then your hub will need 2
Network boards and one network board in every
    node
  • The parts needed to make this work
  • FXNET Board
  • FXSW-NS
  • The Hub requires one software activation for
Networking (FXSW-NS) and an FXNET for every node
  • Each Node location requires an FXNET board
    FXSW-NS software
  • You can have a maximum of 14 nodes or a total of
    15 locations
  • You can network FXII to FXII or FXII to MP5000 or
MP5000 or MP5000. Any combination will work!
  • Point to Point Networking guarantees no issues
    with quality of service
  • Your simultaneous conversations from hub to node
depend on how many channels you will use for
VOICE. If you have a partial T1(12 channels) then
you could have 11 conversations since the
networking requires one channel for signaling.

FAQ on Traditional Networking
  • What features will you get?
  • The system will be able to share a single
    receptionist for the entire network
  • One voicemail can support the entire Network
  • People in Houston can have BLF/DSS appearance for
    people in Sarasota
  • Calls can be seamlessly transferred from one
    location to the next
  • People in Houston who dial 941 area code will
automatically grab dial tone on the node and will
benefit by having a toll free call
  • Networking gives you many other features that
    become transparent across the Network.
  • Transparent intercom dialing
  • Call announce with name display
  • Call forwarding from node to node
  • DID routing
  • ANI passing from node to node
  • SMDR support
  • Serial integration for Voicemail
  • DSS/BLF support (30 per node)

FAQ on VOIP Networking
  • Networking like this requires a VOIP Network
board in every system on the Network
  • The parts needed to make this work
  • MP5-12G or MP5-24G
  • What determines this is how many conversations
    you need between Hub Node
  • You will also need to activate channels on the
MP5-12/24 boards. So if you have a node that
needs to have 6 conversations to the Hub then you
will need 6 channels activated on the Node
(MP5-12G) and 6 channels activated on the Hub
    (MP5-12G)
  • Part FXVOIP-TKSW2
  • In this scenario, you would need a total of 6 of
the above mentioned part numbers. FXVOIP-TKSW2
    activates 2 channels per activation.
  • One VOIP Networking board in the Hub can support
    multiple Nodes
  • You could have one MP5-24G supporting 3 nodes
  • Each Node would be served by 8 channels in the
    Hub VOIP board
  • 8 X 3 would give you 24 total channels
  • In this scenario, I would allocate 8 channels for
node 1, 8 for Node 2 and so on.

  • If you notice, the feature functionality is the
same in either scenario of VOIP networking or
    Traditional networking

FAQ When using IPrimo phones
  • Connecting IP telephones like this require an IP
telephones board to support these endpoints
  • The parts needed to make this work
  • MP5-12G or MP5-24G
  • What determines this is how many IPrimo
    telephones you will have
  • You will also need to activate channels on the
MP5-12/24 boards. So if you have 6 total
telephones then you would need to activate 6
    channels on the (MP5-12G).
  • Part FXVOIP-TKSW2
  • In this scenario, you would need a total of 3 of
the above mentioned part numbers. FXVOIP-TKSW2
    activates 2 channels per activation.
  • Why use IPrimo telephones?
  • You have remote users sitting at home
  • You have a small branch office with 5 stations
and do not want to put an entire system at that
    remote branch location
  • You want to give the users a full feature set
    just like every digital telephone
  • You need to have remote ACD agents
  • You are not exceeding the limitation of IPrimo
    telephones
  • 48 for CPUEX
  • 128 for CPU-2 or SSB
  • 480 on SSB (Future)
  • 911 is not an issue

FAQ on SIP
  • First off, the system must be an MP5000
  • SIP Server Blade
  • SIP Gateway Blade
  • SSL SIP Sever License
  • MP5000 Fully Supports FX II Traditional Telephony
    Components and Applications
  • This will allow the system to support
  • EP300-12 (12 button SIP Endpoint)
  • EP300-24 (24 button SIP Endpoint)
  • EP200 Endpoints

13
FAQ on SIP
  • SIP requires licensing
  • In order for SIP endpoints to make a call to a
digital endpoint or to make an outside call, the
system must have resources allocated. We do this
    using the MP5-12G or MP5-12G
  • You can have 400 SIP endpoints and all endpoints
can call one another, no problem!
  • A channel on the Gateway blade (MP5-12/24G) will
be used when calling a digital endpoint or making
an outside call using the PSTN.
  • Channel licensing

So what are the major questions?
  • When should I use Traditional networking over
    VOIP networking?
  • If you do not ever want to deal with QOS
  • If the customer isnt concerned about allocating
bandwidth for Voice and separate bandwidth for
    Data
  • The cost for a point to point T1 isnt cost
    prohibitive
  • When should I use IPrimo versus SIP?
  • If you are not exceeding the IPrimo limitations
    use IPrimo
  • If you need the remote IP phones to have full
    feature functionality use IPrimo
  • Iprimo is going to be more expensive than SIP
  • You need remotes to be agents in an ACD use
    IPrimo
  • The remote users need basic features use SIP
  • IPrimo telephones remotely will be easier to
    deploy than SIP (EP300)
