3Goals for todays 90 minute workshop
- All participants will sign up and get a wiki
- All participants will become familiar with basic
wiki tools and tasks such as creating and editing
a page, making links, and reverting to a prior
version.
4But first Some housekeeping items (Making sure
you can hear and be heard)
- Connection Speed
- Using My Status
- Using the Chat Pod
- VoIP configuring your microphone
- Recording Session Notification

7Using Voice over IP (VoIP) and configuring your
microphone
Be sure to click Allow when the Flash Player
asks to access your microphone.
8Using Your Microphone
- To use your microphone, be sure to Raise Your
Hand using the button at the bottom left of your
screen - I will grant you rights to speak. Use the Push
to Talk button to ask your question. - If you are in a noisy area I may mute or revoke
your rights.
9Download Files
- Click on file name in Download Files pod
- Click save to my computer
- New window opens (or a pop-up appears)
- Click click to download
- Select Save
- Select your Desktop
- Click save
- After file downloads, click Done
- Close new window, return to Connect, repeat

11Whats a Wiki anyway?
- A simple way for an individual to publish
information on the Internet - A simple way for a selected group of
viewers/users of the wiki to change the
information that is presented. - A way to preserve the changes
- A way to keep a history of the changes
12Some Wiki characteristics
- You can organize the order and relationship of
pages - There are ways to determine who can make changes
- You can keep them simple or add other features
- Easy enough that students can learn to make
changes in one lesson. - You can add images and/or video clips
- You can undo changes easily

Click Save when youre finished!
