Monarch Eggs

• Monarch Butterflies lay their eggs on Milkweed
  plants.

Milkweed and Larva

• Milkweed is a plant that Monarchs lay their eggs
  on.Its poisonous to other animals so they eat it
  for protection against birds and other bugs.

Larvae and Pupae

• Monarch Larvae are yellow, black, and white.
  Their favorite food is Milkweed. How many are in
  the picture on the left? Their pupa is normally
  green or blue. A pupa is a case that a larva
  makes after it has eaten for 2 weeks. It is a
  case that it uses to change to a butterfly.

Adult Monarchs

• Monarchs emerge from their pupa in about 2 to 3
  weeks.The adult butterfly needs to harden its
  wings and after it is done it soars into the air
  and lays eggs on milkweed if its a girl and
  flies to Mexico for both.
