• But these standards were written several years
  ago prior to the new areas that have been
  developed in past 3 or 4 years

AGRICULTURE MECHANICS

• Woodworking equipment such as table saws, band
  saws, and hand tools have been minimum equipment
  for many years.
  
• Metals equipment such as welders (both oxy and
  arc)

1. Change in the curriculum to add the advanced
technology or new student learning

• Example John Deere saw, which is cool on cutting
  metal vs. the old metal saws in the shop

2. The purchase of equipment to teach new
technology

• Example Biological Animal or Plant Systems
  requires new technology and equipment that has
  not been on the minimum equipment list unless you
  have started a new program in the past few years

• Example Laser surveying equipment used in
  Forestry, Agriculture Structures, and Surveying
  will need specialized training

• Computer system for the instructor that is
  current and up-to-date with the software to read
  e-mail and other documents
  
• Instructional technology equipment for the
  classroom and laboratories
  
• Computer systems for student usage in testing

CareerSafe Train the Trainer

• Safety and health is a major emphasis of the
  section, and the program improvement activity
  listed in the manual is an excellent activity for
  the schools.
