Our message

• The third angel's message means far more than we
  take it to mean. We should search to find out all
  thatis possible concerning this solemn message.
  The earth is to be lightened with its glory. The
  angels of God will even now go through our land
  to arouse the minds of the people if we will
  co-operate with them but sad indeed is the fact
  that we are far behind the providences of God,
  and the work that ought to be done to send the
  rays of truth to those who sit in darkness is

• The infliction of the deadly wound points to the
  downfall of the papacy in 1798. After this, says
  the prophet, "his deadly wound was healed and
  all the world wondered after the beast." Paul
  states plainly that the "man of sin" will
  continue until the second advent. 2 Thessalonians
  23-8. To the very close of time he will carry
  forward the work of deception Flb 329.4

• The days in which we live are solemn and
  important. The Spirit of God is gradually but
  surely being withdrawn from the earth. Plagues
  and judgments are already falling upon the
  despisers of the grace of God. The calamities by
  land and sea, the unsettled state of society, the
  alarms of war, are portentous. They forecast
  approaching events of the greatest magnitude. The
  agencies of evil are combining their forces, and
  consolidating. They are strengthening for the
  last great crisis. Great changes are soon to take
  place in our world, and the final movements will
  be rapid ones.--Testimonies, vol. 9, p. 11. ChS

Global Dollar

• "These have one mind." There will be a universal
  bond of union, one great harmony, a confederacy
  of Satan's forces. "And shall give their power
  and strength unto the beast." Thus is manifested
  the same arbitrary, oppressive power against
  religious liberty, freedom to worship God
  according to the dictates of conscience, as was
  manifested by the papacy, when in the past it
  persecuted those who dared to refuse to conform
  with the religious rites and ceremonies of
  Romanism. Mar 187.3

Final round

• As we approach the last crisis, it is of vital
  moment that harmony and unity exist among the
  Lord's instrumentalities. The world is filled
  with storm and war and variance. Yet under one
  head--the papal power--the people will unite to
  oppose God in the person of His witnesses. Mar
  187.1

National Apostasy

• It is at the time of the national apostasy when,
  acting on the policy of Satan, the rulers of the
  land will rank themselves on the side of the man
  of sin. It is then the measure of guilt is full.
  The national apostasy is the signal for national
  ruin.--2SM 373 (1891). LDE 134.1
• When Protestant churches shall unite with the
  secular power to sustain a false religion, for
  opposing which their ancestors endured the
  fiercest persecution, then will the papal Sabbath
  be enforced by the combined authority of church
  and state. There will be a national apostasy,
  which will end only in national ruin.--Ev 235

• Now the fulfilment of that view is beginning to
  be seen. "The commencement of that time of
  trouble," here mentioned does not refer to the
  time when the plagues shall begin to be poured
  out, but to a short period just before they are
  poured out, while Christ is in the sanctuary. At
  that time, while the work of salvation is
  closing, trouble will be coming on the earth, and
  the nations will be angry, yet held in check so
  as not to prevent the work of the
• third angel. At that time the "latter rain," or
  refreshing from the presence of the Lord, will
  come, to give power to the loud voice of the
  third angel, and prepare the saints to stand in
  the period when the seven last plagues shall be
  poured out. EW 85.3

• I heard those clothed with the armour speak
  forth the truth with great power. It had effect.
  Many had been bound some wives by their
  husbands, and some children by their parents. The
  honest who had been prevented from hearing the
  truth now eagerly laid hold upon it. All fear of
  their relatives was gone, and the truth alone was
  exalted to them. They had been hungering and
  thirsting for truth it was dearer and more
  precious than life. I asked what had made this
  great change. An angel answered, "It is the
  latter rain, the refreshing from the presence of
  the Lord, the loud cry of the third angel." CET
  177.2

• Great power was with these chosen ones. Said the
  angel, "Look ye!" My attention was turned to the
  wicked, or unbelievers. They were all astir. The
  zeal and power with the people of God had aroused
  and enraged them. Confusion, confusion, was on
  every side. I saw measures taken against the
  company who had the light and power of God.
  Darkness thickened around them, yet they stood
  firm, approved of God, and trusting in Him. I saw
  them perplexed next I heard them crying unto God
  earnestly. Day and night their cry ceased not
  "Thy will, O God, be done! If it can glorify Thy
  name, make a way of escape for Thy people!
  Deliver us from the heathen around about us. They
  have appointed us unto death but Thine arm can
  bring salvation." These are all the words which I
  can bring to mind. All seemed to have a deep
  sense of their unworthiness, and manifested
  entire submission to the will of God yet like
  Jacob, every one, without an exception, was
  earnestly pleading and wrestling for deliverance.

Message for the hour

• Who among our teachers are awake and as faithful
  stewards of the grace of God are giving the
  trumpet a certain sound? Who are voicing the
  message of the third angel, calling upon the
  world to make ready for the great day of God? The
  message we bear has the seal of the living God.

• I then saw the third angel. Said my accompanying
  angel, "Fearful is his work. Awful is his
  mission. He is the angel that is to select the
  wheat from the tares, and seal, or bind, the
  wheat for the heavenly garner. These things
  should engross the whole mind, the whole
  attention." EW 118.1
• The seal of the living God will be placed upon
  those only who bear a likeness to Christ in
  character. FLB287.2

EW - Early Writings (1882)

• I asked the angel if there were none left. He
  bade me look in an opposite direction, and I saw
  a little company travelling a narrow pathway. All
  seemed to be firmly united, bound together by the
  truth, in Bundles or companies. Said the angel,
  "The third angel is binding, or sealing, them in
  bundles for the heavenly garner." This little
  company looked careworn, as if they had passed
  through severe trials and conflicts. And it
  appeared as if the sun had just risen from behind
  a cloud and shone upon their countenances,
  causing them to look triumphant, as if their
  victories were nearly won. EW 88.3

•  The Lord God of heaven will not send upon the
  world His judgments for disobedience and
  transgression until He has sent His watchmen to
  give the warning. He will not close up the period
  of probation until the message shall be more
  distinctly proclaimed. The law of God is to be
  magnified its claims must be presented in their
  true, sacred character that the people may be
  brought to decide for or against the truth. Yet
  the work will be cut short in righteousness. The
  message of Christ's righteousness is to sound
  from one end of the earth to the other to prepare
  the way of the Lord. This is the glory of God,
  which closes the work of the third angel.

• 6T 19.1There is no work in our world so great,
  so sacred, and so glorious, no work that God
  honours so much, as this gospel work. The message
  presented at this time is the last message of
  mercy for a fallen world. Those who have the
  privilege of hearing this message, and who
  persist in refusing to heed the warning, cast
  away their last hope of salvation. There will be
  no second probation. 6T 19.2
• The word of truth, "It is written," is the
  gospel we are to preach. No flaming sword is
  placed before this tree of life. All who will may
  partake of it. There is no power that can
  prohibit any soul from taking of its fruit. All
  may eat, and live forever.

Two distinct classes

• Every individual in our world will be arrayed
  under one of two banners. Mar 199.1
• The two armies will stand distinct and
  separate, and this distinction will be so marked
  that many who shall be convinced of truth will
  come on the side of God's commandment-keeping
  people. When this grand work is to take place in
  the battle, prior to the last closing conflict,
  many will be imprisoned, many will flee for their
  lives from cities and towns, and many will be
  martyrs for Christ's sake in standing in defense
  of the truth. Mar 199.2

• The "time of trouble, such as never was," is soon
  to open upon us and we shall need an experience
  which we do not now possess and which many are
  too indolent to obtain. It is often the case that
  trouble is greater in anticipation than in
  reality but this is not true of the crisis
  before us. The most vivid presentation cannot
  reach the magnitude of the ordeal. In that time
  of trial, every soul must stand for himself
  before God. "Though Noah, Daniel, and Job" were
  in the land, "as I live, saith the Lord God, they
  shall deliver neither son nor daughter they
  shall but deliver their own souls by their
  righteousness." Ezekiel 1420. GC 622.4

  time and at that time Thy people shall be
  delivered, every one that shall be found written

• When Jesus rises up in the most holy place, and
  lays off His mediatorial garments, and clothes
  Himself with the garments of vengeance in place
  of the priestly attire, the work for sinners will
  be done. . . . The probation of all closes when
  the pleading for sinners is ended and the
  garments of vengeance are put on. FLB 215.3
• The case of every soul will have been
  decided, and there will be no atoning blood to
  cleanse from sin. . . . Then the restraining
  Spirit of God is withdrawn from the earth. FLB

• They afflict their souls before God, pointing to
  their past repentance of their many sins, and
  pleading the Saviour's promise "Let him take
  hold of My strength, that he may make peace with
  Me and he shall make peace with Me." Isaiah
  275. Their faith does not fail because their
  prayers
• are not immediately answered. Though suffering
  the keenest anxiety, terror, and distress, they
  do not cease their intercessions. They lay hold
  of the strength of God as Jacob laid hold of the
  Angel and the language of their souls is "I
  will not let Thee go, except Thou bless me." GC

• From garrets, from hovels, from dungeons, from
  scaffolds, from mountains and deserts, from the
  caves of the earth and the caverns of the sea,
  Christ will gather His children to Himself. On
  earth they have been destitute, afflicted, and
  tormented. Millions have gone down to the grave
  loaded with infamy because they refused to yield
  to the deceptive claims of Satan. By human
  tribunals the children of God have been adjudged
  the vilest criminals. But the day is near when
  "God is Judge Himself." (Ps. 506). Then the
  decisions of earth shall be reversed. "The rebuke
  of His people shall He take away." Isa. 258.
  White robes will be given to every one of them.
  (Rev. 611.) And "they shall call them the holy
  people, the redeemed of the Lord." Isa. 6212.

Heaven Is cheap enough

• Heaven will be cheap enough, if we obtain it
  through suffering. We must deny self all along
  the way, die to self daily, let Jesus alone
  appear, and keep His glory continually in view. I
  saw that those who of late have embraced the
  truth would have to know what it is to suffer for
  Christ's sake, that they would have trials to
  pass through that would be keen and cutting, in
  order that they may be purified and fitted
  through suffering to receive the seal of the
  living God, pass through the time of trouble, see
  the King in His beauty, and dwell in the presence
  of God and of pure, holy angels. EW 67.1
