2The Need...
Estimates are that state revenues will be 500
million short of what is needed to fund
government operations over the next two years.
(Union Leader, 1/28/09) How tough are things
for us here in Claremont?
3UShare
A web-based tool connecting social service
workers with resources in local
communities. Software is worth millions and
was donated for our use. Database program that
selects members based on GPS and category
criteria. Therefore UShare members only get
contacted about needs they choose.
4UShareNH Mission
Improve the welfare of NH Citizens by
facilitating resource sharing between State,
Community Faith-based organizations and NH
citizens
5UShare
6Our Premise..
Neighbors will help neighbors if they know
there is a need and who to contact. Expanding
capacity at the local level. Helping to
connect state, community faith-based
organizations. We hope UShare will grow to
become like the Verizon commercialIts the

8What NH leaders are saying
Commissioner Nick Toumpas (NH Health Human
Resources) It is with great pleasure I write a
letter of recommendation on behalf of UShareNH.
I have seen your presentation twice and believe
it represents the kind of paradigm shift
state government must embrace given the budget
constraints we currently face. Not only is the
UShareNH initiative innovative and creative, it
demonstrates a way to expand resource capacity
9What NH leaders are saying
Maggie Bishop (Director, DCYF) It is important
to acknowledge that children and families
have natural resources that can assist during
difficult times. It Is critical that we build
capacity within the local communities and
discover those resources to help care for our
most vulnerable citizens. UShare has the ability
to bridge those potential community and local
resources to the needs of our children and
families. Kathleen F. Otte, (Director,
BEAS) "More than ever, we are finding it
essential to build capacity within the local
communities and discover the resources available
to help care for our most vulnerable citizens.
UShare has the potential to bridge those untapped
resources to the needs of our elderly and adult
population."
