To help prepare you to enter into the college
classroom and for the demands of writing in
college classes, we will concentrate on 3 areas
on in 2 contexts
College Readiness

T-Writings

- Punctuation
- Organization
3College Writing Readiness
T-Writings T-Writings are designed to help get
you into college. The state exam is a 60 minute
test designed to test your ability to compose an
essay that displays limited problems with
grammar, punctuation, and organization. In
EAP-0484 we will have 6 T-Writings, which are
take home exams. During the semester you will be
asked to write one T-Writing every other week.

- T-Writing Instructions
- Do not focus on the writing prompt, outline or
get help before you begin writing. - Do not type the T-Writings. They must be
handwritten. - Do not use a dictionary before or during your
writing. - Use a timer and allow only 60 minutes for the
writing from start to end.

- T-Writing Length
- Your T-Writings must reach a minimum length to
be graded - 1) T-Writing-1 should be at least 40 words in
length. (lt1.0 words per minute) - 2) T-Writing-2 should be at least 65 words in
length. (gt1.0 word per minute) - 3) T-Writing-3 should be at least 90 words in
length. (gt1.0 words per minute) - 4) Midterm should be at least 120 words in
length. (2.0 words per minute) - 5) T-Writing-4 should be at least 150 words in
length. (gt2.0 words per minute) - 6) T-Writing-5 should be at least 200 words in
length. (gt3.0 words per minute) - 7) T-Writing-6 should be at least 250 words in
length. (gt4.0 words per minute)

- T-Writing Instructions
- After your T-Writing has been evaluated, if you
are - unsatisfied with the evaluation, then 1). type it
and 2) seek - advice from your teacher and/or writing lab, and
resubmit - it when you are ready. You are not limited to
the number - of times that you can submit a paper.
- To resubmit a T-Writing to be re-graded you
must - show evidence that you have been assisted for
your paper to be re-graded. - address grammar, punctuation, and organization.

Papers Papers are designed to help you stay
in college. Many classes at PBCC are Gordon Rule
Classes In accordance with Florida State
Board of Education Rule Number 6A-10.030, all
students are mandated to complete satisfactorily
courses that include written assignments
requiring 1000s of words ENC 1101 Composition
I (6000 Words) ENC 1102 Composition II (6000
Words)

Papers Unlike T-Writings, papers are to be
TYPED and because we are not subject to a
60-minute time limit, these writings should be
greater in length, better organized, and more
accurate than a T-writing.

- Paper Instructions
- Unlike the T-Writings, you can get help at any
stage of the writing process. -
- Note Writing Lab requires typed essays
- Unlike the T-Writings, you may use a dictionary.
- Unlike the T-Writings, you may spend as much time
as you wish as long as you submit the
drafts/papers on time!
