Introduction
  • The Boulton was developed January 2006 by
    Marwest Development Corporation and is located in
    Winnipegs River Heights neighbourhood just off
    Kenaston Boulevard at 45 Boulton Bay. The Boulton
    consist of 108 residents, a spacious and elegant
    central dining room a private dining room for
    special occasions in a beautifully designed
    building. In addition to working in fully
    equipped and spacious kitchen, I prepared and
    cooked for residents who which receive a
    continental breakfast, a snack, and dinner on a
    daily schedule. I also cook for special events,
    holidays and theme dinners.

Responsibilities
  • My daily task is prepare, cook, and plate food
    that will feed up to 108 residents and their
    guests which consist of
  • Continental breakfast (muffins, danishes,
    cinnamon buns, fruit cocktail, fruit platter, and
    hot cereal)
  • Snack time (cookies, or a dessert of my choice)
  • Dinner (which consists of soup, salad, two entrée
    with starch and vegetable, and dessert according
    to the menu)
  • Part of my daily task also required me to clean
    all equipment, dishes, dispose of all garbage
    bags boxes, and sweep mop the floors.

Special Events
  • The residents of the Boulton are welcome to book
    the private dinning room for any special event of
    their choice which Ive had the honor to cook for
    a couple of those events.
  • Once a month we bake a cake to celebrate the
    birthdays of the month.
  • Sundays the menu consist of a buffet.
  • Mondays during the summer months the menu consist
    of an outdoor barbeque.
  • Make platters to the on-site activity director
    required for special events or activities.

Conclusion
  • Working at the Boulton was a wonderful experience
  • Working under Chef Nagy and in an excellent
    atmosphere helped me gain confidence and improve
    my culinary skills.
