Title: Classroom Procedures

1
Classroom Procedures
  • The following procedures are in place so I know
how to act and what I should be doing at all
times. Mr. Pacak expects me to follow these
procedures. Privileges (like labs) will be taken
away and consequences (like detention) will be
assigned if procedures are not followed properly.

2
How do I enter class?
  • I will enter class quietly and calmly. I will sit
in my assigned seat. I must be in my seat when
the tardy bell rings or I will be marked tardy.
I will get out my needed materials and put my
backpack and other items under the table (not in
    the aisles).

3
What do I do now?
  • I will take out any homework that is due today.
  • I will write todays assignments in my planner.
  • I will copy the learning goal in my log
  • I will begin my Bellwork.
  • Remember, this is silent time!

4
How do I complete Bellwork?
  • Each day when I enter class there will be a
bellwork question on the board. On my notebook
paper, I will write down the date, bellwork
number, and copy the question, and write the
answer. I can use my notes or book to answer.
Mr. Pacak will always go over the answer with me,
so I will be sure mine is correct. Bellwork is
SILENT time. Mr. Pacak uses test questions for
bellwork, so they are a great study tool.

5
Teachers procedure for getting the attention of
the class.
  • Most often when I want your attention I will ring
the bell on my desk. Other times I may count
backwards on my fingers. Please count with me
using an inside voice to get the attention of the
class, when my fist is closed, so is your mouth.
  • Listen carefully and wait until I am finished to
carry out instructions or ask questions.
  • I will not shout over you, if you do not become
quiet (as a class) you are using my time and will
    pay it back to me.

6
What do I do when I need to carry out a necessary
chore?
  • Necessary chores are things like getting items
out of backpacks or purses, sharpening pencils,
hole punching, getting a drink of water, etc. I
will complete all necessary chores before the
bell rings. Once the tardy bell has rung, it is
class time. I will ask Mr. Pacak if I need to
    leave my seat during class.

7
Which class supplies may I Use?
  • I may only use the stapler, tape and hole punch
    on the black, side, counter.
  • Materials on Mr. Pacaks desk or front demo table
ARE NOT for me to use or touch without
    permission.
  • If I need to borrow anything, I will need a
student ID card, and I must ask before class.

8
What do I do if I need to leave the classroom?
  • I have a four-minute passing period and a 10
minute break, I need to use them wisely.
Restroom visits are for emergencies only, and
time out of class will be owed back to Mr. Pacak
at the end of class, or during break.
  • Tardies may be assigned if privileges are abused

9
What do I do if I finish my work early?
  • First, I will review my work for accuracy and
completeness. Then I may begin homework, study
vocabulary, read, or work on assignments from
another class. I will not disrupt other people
and interfere with their learning environment.

10
How do I keep my science log?
  • My science log is my key to success. Everything I
do will go in my science log and be worth points
at the end of the chapter. This is where I
should go to review and study for tests.
  • My science log counts for a grade a really easy
grade. I will keep it up-to-date, neat, and
    organized.

11
How do we do a log check?
  • At the end of the chapter I will have my log
checked. I will always be sure all of my work in
my log is completed and in order! Mr. Pacak will
call me up to his desk and he will go through it
with me. I will know when I leave his desk what
    I scored.

12
What do I do when the bell rings at the end of
the period?
  • The bell does not dismiss me, Mr. Pacak does. I
will wait quietly and stay seated until Mr. Pacak
dismisses me. We will wait until everyone is
quiet. When dismissed, I will push in my chair
    and exit quietly.

13
What do I do when I am absent?
  • The day I am absent I can call a friend or check
Mr. Pacaks website. When I return to school I
must check the Daily Assignment log. This is
my responsibility. I must get any missed
Bellwork entries, turn in any assignments and
    make up any missed work.
  • Mr. Pacak WILL NOT chase me down to complete
this. The only thing I cannot make up in this
class are labs, I must make everything else up.

14
Please respect the learning environment.
  • I will be sure to clean up after each class
period, put all trash in TRASH CANS and help
keep our room neat. I will appreciate and
    respect the classroom and equipment.
