• This unit plan deals with seven and eight year

• It is designed for second grade students
• Basic concepts and experiments

  and creativity by observing, classifying, and
  comparing patterns of natural objects in the
  environment
• S.C 2.2.5 Conduct simple investigations and
  make predictions based on that data (
  temperature, seasonal changes)
• S.C. 2.3.2 Use models as representations of
  real things
• S.C. 2.4.16. Compare seasonal changes
• S.C. 2.3.3. Observe that changes occur
  gradually or randomly within an environment

Utilizing MaterialDay One

• Introduce concepts
• Students will write allowing the teacher to see
  what they already know about the subject

• Introduce students to concepts of severe weather
• Pull in different types of weather with the
  seasons
• Share what students wrote about weather

• Pull in next days lesson on clouds

• Examine clouds
• Group discussion
