Industry Partner - Eligibility
  • Eligible
  • a private sector industry organisation
  • a private non-profit organisation
  • a Government agency
  • Ineligible
  • Govt funded research organisations eg CSIRO and
    universities (national and international)

  • Chief Investigator/s
  • responsible for intellectual content and
    administration of project (1st CI)
  • Partner Investigators
  • Significant commitment
  • Intellectual input
  • Relevant expertise
  • from industry or overseas universities
  • Australian Post Doctoral Award Industry
  • Early career researcher (lt 3 yrs Post-Doc
    experience)
  • Not held ARC Research Fellowship
  • Make a full-time commitment to the project

Application Attributes
  • High degree of industry collaboration
  • in defining the project, provision of resources,
    participation in research and use of the results
  • A clearly defined project
  • What will be undertaken and anticipated outcomes
  • Advancing the knowledge base of the discipline
  • Industry Partner must match ARC funding
  • 20 in cash, 80 in-kind
  • Timely
  • National research priority area or other national
    agenda items
  • Quality research team
  • Track record worth 20 of assessment
  • ARC will NOT fund an extension of an existing
    project

Funding
  • for match funding by Industry
  • ARC 50 - Industry 50 of project costs
  • Industry Partner Contributions comprised of
  • a minimum - 20 Cash - 80 In-Kind
  • Grant Size
  • 20,000 p/a minimum
  • 500,000 p/a maximum - limited number
  • Usual range of funding 50,000 - 100,000 p/a

Linkage - Stipends
  • APAI Stipend
  • 24,148 per annum
  • Post Doctoral Fellowship Industry (APDI)
  • 67,494 including on-costs
  • Linkage Industry Fellowship (LIF)
  • CIs or PIs are eligible
  • Up to 100,000 salary buy-out
  • A single period of 3 and 12 months

  • 1 - 5 years (average 3 years)
  • APAI only
  • 2 years Masters (full time)
  • 3 years PhD (full time)

  • 3 years (full time) lesser period must be
    adequately justified

  • So you can tell them how your project is just
    what their business needs

  • however, ensure your objectives are still covered
  • find another expert - if their aims are not in
    your field of expertise
  • Essential - ensure they allow you to publish
