Jasmina is a little girl. She left her parents at
a tender age to work as a domestic help. Her
master and mistress do not give her any
education. In this picture Jasmina is washing the
utensils of her masters home and I took her
picture. She became very happy.

to his place and I saw two pigeons sitting like

32The name of this studio is Rainbow Studio. We get
our photographs processed and printed from this
studio. It is in Dhamakhali which is far away
from my home. They produce good quality work and
I like that.

The big boys are playing football at the
playground in front of the school. The rain makes
the field muddy and the sun makes it dry. When
the surface of the ground is very hard the
players get injured from that hard surface but
they continue to play and they play everyday.
Playing is a tool to be physically fit and it
keeps the blood circulation going. I love
watching cricket but like playing football.
34This canal is in front of our house. The person
on the boat is a fisherman and he earns a living
through that. His life is very hard and thats
why I took this picture.
Hiralal, 15, Male, Midnapore India
35The name of the river you see here is Kelekhai.
The river starts from Deghati and ends at
Amgachia. It does not have water throughout the
year but only during the monsoons.
The river has many fish including Prawn and Bekti
(similar to carp or perch). People around this
area earn their living by catching the fish from
this river during the monsoons. I like this
river.

This is a potato and onion shop at the market
place. Sometimes buyers leave the shop without
paying while the vendor is busy weighing the
vegetables. This seller brought his five year old
son to keep an eye on the customers.
46This picture is of a big hole on the road that
was caused by the overflowing water from the
ponds. This hole makes life difficult for people
and transportation, even the kids going to school
suffer because of this. In the city all the roads
and buildings are well constructed, but in the
villages we suffer like in this picture.
Panchanan, 15, Male, Midnapore, India
47This picture is about the fact that it has been
raining all day but the daily life at the market
place is going on as usual with people using
umbrellas over their heads.

I took this picture of my father, brother and
sister while they were having their lunch. I

them without telling them. This is how I shot

This is a picture of my sister and her friend.
One day my sister went to school without her

camera as well because she wanted me to shoot a
picture of her with her friend. I agreed and when
I had gone halfway to meet her, I saw her and her
friend coming. They asked me to take their
photograph which I did.

going to tuition with a beautiful umbrella caught
