2Background Information
- Dianas family included her father, mother, two
older sisters, Sarah and Jane, - a younger brother, Charles, and herself, Diana
Frances Spencer. - In 1975 her father became the eighth Earl
Spencer making her a lady. -
3Background Information
- Diana attended private boarding schools.
- She was great at sports and won trophies for
swimming. - After leaving school in 1978 she worked as a
nanny, waitress, and cleaning woman before
becoming a teacher at the Young England
Kindergarten. -

4Hardships/ Struggles
- Diana had a eating disorder.
- She got divorced to Prince Charles in 1996
because he was still in love with his former
girlfriend. They shared custody of their two
sons. - Dianas mother left her father when Diana was
six and her father gained custody of their
children. -

5Major Accomplishments Contributions to the
World
- During her marriage to Prince Charles she
- was the president/ patron of over
- 100 charities.
- Some charities were Centerpoint Homeless
- Charity, English National Ballet,
Leprosy Mission, National Aid Trust, Hospital for
Sick Children, and Northwick Park Hospital. -

World
- Diana was one of the first important British
people to spread awareness of AIDS. - Most people thought that AIDS could be spread
by hugging, kissing, and even touching. -

- Diana had Britains first purpose built ward
- for AIDS built.
- It was built as part of Londons Middlesex
hospital. - When it was opened, many where shocked that the
princess hadnt worn protective clothing. -

- Some people called AIDS the Gay Disease
- which only applied to homosexuals and
- drug addicts.
- Diana showed people that mothers and babies
- had caught the disease and had nothing to
- with any of the things listed above.
- She was one of the first to show people that
- you could touch a person with the disease
- and not catch it.

World
- Diana also contributed to funds that tried to
raise the birth rate in Britain. - Many children where still born and some died in
infancy. - Diana helped a fund raise 5,000,000.
10Major Accomplishments Contributions to the
World
- This money helped bump the survival rate of
premature children up to seventy percent. - Diana also helped children with Leprosy and
became the patron of the Leprosy Mission .
11Characteristics
Service Diana helped charities all over the
World and showed much community
service. Compassion Diana showed so much love
to every one by showing how much she cared and
by visiting people personally. Leadership
Diana lead people to accept other people such
as ones that are sick. Integrity She was always
doing what was right- she was always helping
strangers out.
12Diana's Lesson
Dianas taught me that you can make a difference
even if people do not agree with what you are
doing. For example, people did not like that
Diana was part of AIDS but she still made a
difference.
