Mold (and Mildew) are fungi that grow on the
surfaces of objects, within pores, and in
deteriorated material

Mold Health Effects
  • Lead to allergic reactions in susceptible
    individuals
  • Can cause other health problems but it is very
    controversial whether or not mold causes serious
    health effects

Mold Control 101
  • Mold levels inside should be less than outside
    air
  • (less than 70 of outside)
  • If Mold species (types) inside is not found
    outside, a problems exists

Our Strategy
  • Remove visible mold, replace wet (moisture)
    materials and try to control moisture levels
    inside buildings

  • Different levels (per OSHA guidelines)
  • Start out with small area
  • (our custodial staff handle)
  • Goes up to large projects with entire walls
    covered, use consultants with special training
    and PPE
