  • FCC rules until 1996 were strict one owner could
    only own 14 stations 7AM/7FM and only two 1AM/1FM
    in any one market.
  • Rules now are on a sliding scale In large cities
    with 44 stations, one owner cannot own more than
    8 stations (max 5 AM/FM)

  • Salaries are a function of the size of the
    station and the size of the market area.
  • Management and on-air personalities make the most
    money but they are a small percent of the job
    force. Remember, average salary is 20000.

  • We are done with Chapter 4.
  • Finish reading Chapter 4 and start reading
    Chapter 8. We will be looking at it in the next
    two days.
  • Exam 2 will be on Friday, Nov. 8th.
  • Make up several essay questions for the exam.
    This will be due on Monday.
