  Coefficient)
• TC (Thermocouple)
• In the following we will talk about the different
  element technologies in detail.

Thin film RTDsPt 100/Pt 1000

• Advantages
• Relatively small
• Short reaction time
• Cheap but reliable
• Very resistant towards vibrations
• Temperature range 50 to 750 C(some suppliers
  can deliver elements up to 1000 C)

• We chose the type K because we use it for
  measuring of exhaust gas temperatures(600-800
  C)
• The advantages of the type K elements are
• It has a good long term stability, 10 times
  better than a type J element
• It is good at higher temperatures 600 C and
  above (up to 1150 C)
• (It is the only element that drifts upwards in
  temperature)

PTC

• The PTC is based on a semi conductor technology,
  and the material used is Silicon

NTC

• The NTC has a negative temperature characteristic
  (TC)
• As you can see on the graph, the NTC is extremely
  non-linear
