  • 1846, President James K. Polk declared war on
    Mexico due to the border disputes.
  • Mexico loses, border established for Texas at the
    Rio Grande River.
  • Mexico gave California and the area of New Mexico
    to the US.
  • US gave Mexico 15 million.
