• Open Crunchit! at the usual place
• (bcs.whfreeman.com/crunchit/ips5e)
• Look at problem 1.124 on page 93 (refer back to
  p. 59, exercise 1.58, lengths in mm of 3
  varieties of flowers on the island of Dominica).
  Describe the distribution of lengths for each
  variety. How do the flowers lengths differ by
  variety? Are they normally distributed for each
  variety? If so, what are the means and s.d.s? If
  not, how are they non-normal?
• To answer the above questions, first do several
  graphs, including stemplots, histograms, boxplots
  (side-by-side), and finally normal quantile plots
  to check normality.

• As in the previous lab, copy the graphs into Word
  and write your responses to the questions asked
  in paragraph form. Make sure youre treating
  the data as numbers in a specific context!
• Save the graphs and the writeup in a file with
  the name yourlastname.doc where
  yourlastname is replaced by your actual last
  name.
• Print out the file, sign it, and bring it to
  class on Friday and turn it in with your quiz.
  If youre not going to be here for the quiz you
  may email it to me at frierson_at_uncw.edu by Friday
  at noon. This lab will count as a graded homework
  and so cannot be turned in later than noon on
  Friday.
