Underground Railroad
  • The underground railroad wasnt really a railroad
    at allit was a path, or trail leading from the
    south to the north. It was simply a way of
    staying undercover.

a person to face danger or difficulties without
fear.

you were a slave? Would it take strength? Would
it take independence?

  • Would you have the courage to run?
  • Would you be willing to leave behind people that
    you loved?
  • Would you be able to survive if you did make it
    to the North?

  • Would you help the run away slaves?
  • What would you do for them?
  • What do you think would happen if you were caught
    with run away slaves on your property?
  • Would you find other ways to help?

  • Booker T. Washington Wanted to learn how to
    read more than anything else.
  • Rosa Parks Went to jail for refusing to give up
    her seat on the bus to a white man. Given credit
    for the start of the Civil Rights Movement of the
    1960s.
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Leader of the civil
    rights movement.
