Things to know

• Use good starting materials
• What works on hair may not work on wigs (and vice
  versa)
• No one person is the be-all, end-all of wig
  experts. What Im going to be demonstrating are
  my own techniques, which work well for me. Feel
  free to disagree or experiment.

Where to buy?

• Most good wigs are purchased online. They can
  also be found at theatrical supply store.
• Extensions and tools can be bought online or at
  beauty supply stores like Sallys (theres one by
  Hobby Lobby)

Things to Look For

• Fiber type make sure its Kanekalon, Eleora, or
  Toyokalon. If it just says synthetic, ask
  first.
• Expect to spend a fair amount of money
• Get a wig with a skin top (plastic scalp piece

Necessary Tools

• Wig head
• Wide-toothed comb
• Hair dryer
• Small craft scissors
• Pins (preferably with colored ends)
• Something to hold the head down

• Hair spray (the cheapest kind will do)
• Hair glue
• Silicone caulk
• Heat sealer
• Various clips
• Rubber bands
• Curlers
• Others depending on what youre doing

Maintenance

• Comb very gently, especially with long wigs
• Store on the wig head or in the bag it came in
• Can wash with very mild shampoo
• Put a clip on the back of a long wig to prevent
  ridiculous amounts of tangling
