COB accepted responsibility for .BS
Initially managed by UPR (administrative
technical)
1999 COB MIS Dept. takes over registry function
2003 Primary name server set up at COB with
secondary servers provided by UPR and PCH
December 2003, attempt to separate BSNIC from MIS
department

Environment
No formal agreement with the Bahamian Government
No regulatory body or legislation governing the
domains operation
COB manages the domain as a service to the
country and as a means for funding tertiary-level
education
Administrative changes approved by the VP Finance
and Administration and the College Council
