- "The factual resume is a concise overview whose
purpose is to draw reviewers' attention to the
most significant activities engaged in under each
of the criteria, as applicable, during the period
under review, indicating the level of
participation and contribution."
5What is a Factual Resume?
- Documents your activities and accomplishments for
period under review - Plays an important role at all levels of review
- Informs Review Initiator and other review levels
of your activities and accomplishments - Is selective includes significant activities
- Should not be evaluative or opinionated, but
should indicate the impact or significance of
activities - Should not be difficult or onerous to prepare

- Organize factual resume by criteria beginning
with Criterion 1 activities - Not necessary to list a criterion in which there
is no activity - Use outline form described under Format and
Content in Guidelines, p. 2 (APP-L p. 72)

- Within the criteria, list most recent activities
first - Under Criterion 1 organize by functional areas
(if appropriate) with most important functions
first - Provide inclusive dates for the activity
- - Play close attention to dates
- - Include only activities within the current
review period. Overlap may occur. - Number each page

- Provide a description of the significance of each
activity - Keep the descriptions brief and to the point
- Begin sentences or phrases with active verbs

- Organized

- Omit attendance at internal library events unless
significant to your accomplishments - Include memberships on list-servs only if you are
a moderator or developer of the list.

- Attachments are optional, not required
- May be beneficial for promotion, career status,
or distinguished actions - Be selective you do not need to include
everything rather, include outstanding or
representative samples

- Include items that would serve to inform all
review levels of the significance or importance
of your activity such as - Published scholarly articles
- Presentations at a professional conference
- Major report for library or professional
committee when chair - Web sites or course pages you have developed

- Identify each attachment with a number or letter
- Make sure attachments are properly identified in
your Factual Resume - Prepare a Table of Contents identifying each
attachment in order
