Building Trust and Respect
  • We need to
  • Dispel fears of colleagues about students using
    2.0 technologies and show the positive impact on
    learning outweighs negative fears of misuse.
  • Educate stakeholders and learning community about
    educational opportunities of new technologies and
    the ethics and social responsibility that come
    with digital intellectual property.
  • Trust kids to use social networking appropriately
    and trust teachers and librarians to monitor
    student use of social networking sites.

The Technology
  • We need to
  • Build positive collaborations between librarians
    and the technology coordinators who can help us
    access digital spaces.
  • Invite or create opportunities for the tech
    community to observe what students are doing in
    the library and make the effort to see and
    understand what they do.
  • Create courageous conversations that change the
    attitude and conversation toward/with tech
    departments. We need each other - be the person
    who creates the opportunities in a positive way -
    look for ways to ask and work together.
  • Learn from our students about what's relevant to
    who they are and what they do. Our students need
    to be teaching teachers and librarians about
    their technology and how they use it.

  • Provide leadership for library and educational
    community to be better able to use L2.0 tools
    effectively in learning to connect to larger
    goals of the education community.
  • Create environment that will engage stakeholders
    and foster community of learning. We need to
    teach and learn for ourselves and our colleagues.

  • NATIONAL Critical opportunity to demonstrate
    other ways to assess student learning.
  • STATE Critical opportunity to identify LMS
    program as tech innovators. (librarians)
  • DISTRICT Critical opportunity to be partners
    with IT.

    and Bloom with student work products.
