North America and maintains continental aerospace

in response to hostile actions against North
America.

NORAD-USNORTHCOM Considerations

• Currently, NORAD and USNORTHCOM are different
  commands
• Same commander (Gen Eberhart)
• Dual-hatted directorates
• Different JMETLs
• Different missions, but both are Homeland Defense
• Different exercise programs
• Two exercises per year are merged
• Two separate exercises per year (minimal NC play)
