Background

• Civilian has heart attack and 911 is contacted
• Fire truck/Paramedics dispatched
• Arrive on scene administer 12 Lead ECG
• Analyze ECG and determine normal or Abnormal
• Normal ECG results in paramedic routed to any
  hospital.
• Abnormal ECG Paramedic routed to a hospital with
  Catheterization Lab
• If ECG is inconclusive, Medics need to contact
  doctors at the hospital to determine need of
  Catheterization lab

Project Goal

• Currently ECG machine outputs an analog signal
  and a printed hard copy.
• Design a piece of equipment that digitalize the
  ECG and be receivable by the laptops/PDAs in the
  medics vehicles
• In completing this project, Doctors at the
  hospital will have adequate time to prepare the
  ER and allow for rapid mobilization of cath lab
  resources for patient suffering from acute
  myocardial infraction.

• Small
• Lightweight
• Transportable
• Self Powered
• No interference with current ECG machine
• Low cost to build and disperse throughout forces
