- AB 1127 repeals current prohibition on civil
penalties against governmental agencies for
safety violations - Increased Fines for knowingly, repeating, and
willful negligence - SB 198 Be a manager go to jail
- Workers comp litigation
4Funding (cont.)
Allocate resources for
- Safety position (be creative)
- Personal protective equipment (feedback)
- Technical Safety Gadgets (sniffer)
- New videos (humorous)
- Strong Safety Committee
- Action on hazards
- Budget cautiously ( watch out for consultants)
5No Time for Safety
Untrained unskilled workers lost time
accidents
- Escorting employees to medical assistance
- Accident Investigations
- Filling out accident reports
- FAT / CAT OSHA Inspections
- Litigations court appearances
- Lost time from employee not at work
- More work for everyone else

gain time back - Time passes by anyway might as well have spent it
on something worthwhile
