ACHIEVEMENTS OF KVK PROGRAMME

• A.EXTRAPLORATION OF GROUNDNUT PRODUCTION
• Through FLD groundnut var.TAG-24 has been
  established in Jamboni, BinpurIII blocks and
  presently 230 ha area is under cultivation in
  aforesaid blocks
• 615 farmers are earning Rs. 20,000/- per
  hectare.
• B.DEVELOPMENT OF CASHEW MANGO ORCHARD IN
  WASTELAND
• During last two years KVK has supplied Grafted
  Cashew (var. V-4) Mango (var. Amrapali) plants
  for developing 750 ha (450 ha for cashew and 300
  ha for Mango) orchard in wasteland in 29 Blocks
  of West Midnapur in collaboration with NHM
• Farmers category-SC-850,ST-1000 GC-1725
• C. POPULARISATION OF FISH SEED PRODUCTION
  PROMOTION OF FISH CULTURE
• Through KVK support 18 numbers of Rural youth
  10 SHG members in villages are producing 25 lac
  fish (IMC) spawn 2.8 lac fingerlings with an
  average earning of Rs.6000/- in a season per
  youth.
• Area increased under composite culture- 20 ha
  with average yield of 2450 kgs/ha/yr

ACHIEVEMENTS OF KVK PROGRAMME

• D. CREATION OF WATER HARVESTING STRUCTURE
• KVK caters additional 100 acres area under
  irrigation during Rabi, Summer by developing 2
  water harvesting structure in collaboration with
  NREGA
• E.INCOME GENERATION OF RURAL YOUTH SHG THROUGH
• VERMICOMPOST NURSERY
• 15 numbers of vermicompost units and 5 nursery
  units have been established in 10 villages and
  the production has been streamlined through
  practical demonstration
• Farmers of the said villages are earning Rs.
  1,000/- per month from Vermicompost unit Rs
  800/- from nursery unit
• F.TRAINING PROGRAMMES
• Total 6156 numbers of beneficiaries have been
  trained in various categories viz. Practicing
  farmers, Rural youth, Extension functionaries and
  sponsored programme during 2007-08.
• Out of which 33 belongs to SC and 34 belongs to
  ST.
