4Things to Consider
- The driving times are just that driving. If
you want to sightsee, you need to include that in
your timetable. - Zions Park is now closed to private vehicles.
There is an I-MAX theatre that is worth the time
to see. Buses take you from the visitors center
to a variety of places within the park. - You can still drive from Springdale to Mt. Carmel
Junction, however.
5Springdale to Mt. Carmel Junction
6Choices
- From Mt. Carmel Junction you can go North to
Bryce and Cedar Breaks or - Go South to Kanab (heart of old western films)
and from there to the North Rim of the Grand
Canyon. This is a side of the Grand Canyon few
people get to visit and not nearly as crowded
as the South Rim.

- If you drive to the North Rim there is only one
way in and out so you need to take into account
the time you will need to return to Kanab, Utah.

- This is a fabulous drive passes along the
northern edge of Lake Powell - However, be sure you fill up with gas at each
opportunity as it is a long ways between places
on this road.
