  • Data Paths
  • 1200 bps data path cabling complete, modem
    identified.
  • 9600 bps data path cabling complete, modem
    identified.
  • Everything is assembled onto a single TNC, some
    configuration may still need tweaking.
  • We are now free of all Alaska hardware!
  • Preliminary 9600 bps data path testing last week.
  • Setting up for end to end 1200 bps data path and
    9600 bps data path testing.
  • Should complete end to end testing within a week.

Current 2 m / 70 cm Stuff
  • Power/Data System
  • Receptacle hardware installed at W6YX antenna.
  • Need to connect power inside W6YX shack to
    complete power path.
  • May require merging some existing lighting
circuits that have since been upgraded to
    low-power use.
  • Need to pick up or identify another optical box
for testing and/or for permanent installation.
  • Heat/Cool System
  • Possible temperature control circuits
  • Velleman K6001
  • Output Pulse width modulation at 200 microsec /
    degF.
  • Cost 20 per unit
  • Velleman K6002
  • Output 5 amps 220 VAC (need to check if this is
modifiable to 110 VAC) high and low alarm relays.
  • Cost 99 per unit, can accept 3 temperature
circuits (needs to be paired with K6001 or
    similar).
  • Velleman K8067
  • Output Analog value, would require some sort of
analog limit switches to control heat/cool.
  • Velleman K6502
  • Output remote temperature sensing via POTS
    analog telephone.
  • Velleman MK138
  • Output relay specification 24 V AC/DC 3 A single
    temperature setting.

Mercury Beacon Decoder
  • Restructuring for generalization - data driven
    architecture
  • Added Beacon Library XML as well as Beacon
    Definition XML support
  • Removed all QuakeSat specific code
  • Installed on mercury user account on Ops Priroda
  • ToDo List
  • Get source into CM
  • Cleanup Beacon Header architecture
  • Add support for I/F to MySQL database
  • Add more binary data type support - (small
    project)
  • Add I/F to analysis and or data package
  • Workout real-time Mercury Socket I/F problems
  • Add XML builder
  • Add internal file editor/viewer Beacon Link
    support
  • Upgrade Error Messaging, Locale support
  • Add Help Documentation

5
Mercury / Operations
  • Toolset Updates
  • Jbuilder IDE /opt/Borland
  • Eclipse IDE /usr/local/eclipse
  • Updated JDK to 1.5 /opt/jdk1.5.0_06
  • Mercury Features / GUIs / Satellite Message
    Server Interfacing
  • Discussion topics with the rest of the folks
working on pieces of the operations.
