A hands on experiment

• QM wants polarized sunglasses, so he goes to CVS.
• To check that they are polarized, he holds the
  glasses parallel to each other and looks through
  the overlap.

Note that the overlap of the two lenses is black

• There is a simple explanation.
• Polarized light can only vibrate in one direction
  in each pair of glasses.
• But the glasses are at right angles to each
  other.
• Hence, light cannot vibrate at all and no light
  passes.

Quantum weirdness

• Quantum Mechanic then takes a third pair of
  polarized lenses, turned at 45 degrees to the
  other two and he places the lens between the
  other two.

Abracadabra! Voila! Eureka!

• The first two lenses are still at right angles.
• But now you can SEE again! Light is no longer
  blocked in the overlap of the three lenses.
