4MMDS System
MMDS does not have any alternative among all
those high frequency systems used in big cities.
Besides, with the help of MMDS system the actual
problem of "the Last Tube" in communications can
be settled. The system does not require
utilization of the main cables, therefore, the
problem of low quality communication channels of
Tbilisi does not impede it anyhow. Using the
above-mentioned technology ASA TV provides its
partner companies with VPN (Virtual Private
Network) service.
5ASA TV has a frequency band licensed for
2200-2400 MHz bandwidth. We use the following
equipment - High frequency reception and
transmission unit (ROKS Ukraine) - Generator
of analog TV channels (WISI Germany) - Digital
generator (FUJITSU Japan) - Internet head-end
(CISCO America) - Reception TV port (SAMSUNG
Korea) - UPS (ART ronic Turkey)

8Pay-as-you-see Television in Georgia
Pay-as-you-see or the so called cable
television in Georgia was established in 1980s.
Demand to introduce cable television in Georgia
was caused by the fact that TV broadcast under
the former soviet system was stopped. It was
necessary to use advanced technologies. The
number of pay-as-you-see television subscribers
is stably increasing day by day. At present the
number of potential subscribers only in Tbilisi
is about 800 000.
9Now only several low coverage cable operators are
working in Tbilisi by means of local networks,
but they cannot provide high quality service
which a consumer needs today. Only MMDS operator
AYETI is the exception. It provides
broadcasting by 24 channels in the frequency
band 2,5-2,7 GHz. Its number of subscribers is
up to 2000. Though, neither the high price not
the quality of the service provided by this
company meet the demands of the audience.

11Competative advanteges of ASA tv service
12At present digital television becomes more and
more popular and analog television practically
stopped its activity. ASA TV is the only company
in Tbilisi which has a technical base providing
up-to-date digital broadcasting. First steps to
install digital television in Tbilisi have been
made already. ASA TV together with the analog
television activated a pilot digital package with
the following parameters 464 MHz QAM 32, 4
channels. If digital television is introduced
completely, ASA TV will be able to increase the
number of subscribers and become the first
digital broadcasting TV company both in Georgia
and the entire Caucasus Region.
